Default Expert Knowledge on B engine

Hi there... I would like to Stroke my B18c1 to a 2ltr with crowers 2ltr kit.

would it have enough clearance for type 3 cams from toda or Jun???

How much power output shall i expect? I want to make a powerful B engine.

I was told to resleeve the car and bore to 84mm. to make it a 2 ltr.... is that better option than crowers 2ltr kit??

Anyone who has good knowledge please come forward...

thanks!

i actually bored mine to 84mm and used darton sleeves. i am using JE 10.5:1 pistons and crower rods. just under 200whp. motor is 3 years old and still running strong! i think the stroker kit is less reliable. just my opinion though.

Stroker kits are a good way to make power, but there are some downsides. For one they will have to notch the block to install a crank with a big stroke like that. Secondly you're rod/stroke ratio will be terrible, unless you plan on using thinner pistons with the wristpins moved up and longer rods. I'd say it would be more cost efficient to bore it out, depending on what you're plans are.

anything above 84mm you will need to resleeve it.
this would be better than the kit.
my suggestion to you is to go to
http://www.team-integra.net and read the articles on this, there are many good articles and info on this subject there and then you can get a clearer picture on it.

for crower's 2.0liter stroker, you have to remove oil squirters, notch block and punch to 84 mm. i dont really see the point. just punch to 84 mm. you may not be a true 2.0 liter, but you'll be close enough. you wont make as much torque as a 92mm crank will, but you can say you're a 2 liter if thats what makes you happy. now when it comes to valve clearance with certain cams... thats something you'll have to wait till you get the motor back together. see, when you go to machine a motor, theres some things that have to be done simply to get the motor back together correctly. on used aluminum motors, the head and deck often warps a tiny bit, so a little deck milling is in order. this makes trying to clear vavles w/ a huge lift cam kinda tough. so you have to play with thick headgaskets and you have to get a dremel out and work the valve reliefs more. theres so many factors that go into the valve clearance issue, its hard to say, but @ 84mm w/ a set of toda c's you should clear valve with a piston set that has valve reliefs cut large enough.

no stroking man dont fawk with the rod/stroke ratio. resleeve the bitch to 2.0 ~ 84.5mm and run rlz wiseco piston and cunningham rods.
