Default Buying a JRSC

im' thinkin about selling my current set up for my 95 gsr ( spoon 2 ply headgasket, skunk2 intake manifold, skunk2 cam gears, itr valvetrain, ctr cams, and vafc. All parts are not installed), and just buying a used JRSC kit for my gsr... I've seen them go for around 1500 sometimes more sometimes less.. I plan on running only 6psi.. the only thing i am sort of worried about is my motor has 105k on it.. I am the 2nd owner, the first owner used it as a daily driver most of its life so the motor is strong but i have doubts...

ppl here who have jrsc gsr's, how you like it?

Would i need to upgrade my fuel system with just 6psi? What kind of tuning would i need if any? Searching has only gotten me so far thanks

I love my jrsc.
234whp/169lbs out of a spare b16 block I had kicking around, and spinning tires through 3rd in the 1/4 mile. Power is instant, along with throttle response. Roots blower is an awesome mod.

At 6psi, you can get away with the FMU and IAT hack. It should be sufficient for about 200whp, and 150 lbs of torque. Anything past 6psi, and you should go with some sort of Fuel and timing ecu like Hondata or Uberdata, and a good tuner. At 10psi with a good exhaust, intake, and cam gears, you should be able to extract 250whp which is a fun ride.

The base map being your stock map and FMU?
You should be okay, but a couple hours on the dyno won't hurt. You can dial in your cam gears, and make sure you're not running too rich, or too lean.

It's tough to say. I know Honda motors are good, but if you already have an existing problem, you'll just make it fail faster by boosting. On the other hand, if your motor is good, you could boost for another 50,000. Do a compression test, and if possible, a leakdown test. Post your results here, and you'll get a good idea on the shape of your motor.

a buddy of mine has a jrsc on his 97 gsr along with h/e/i. i believe he installed it at about 80-85k and is at about 104k now. he runs about 7.5psi max. he has not upgraded his fuel system at all, though he has thought about it, and it runs fine. i *believe* that unless your going to up the pressure you'll be fine with your stock fuel system. i'm only saying this based on the fact that my friend hasnt had any problems. i do believe you'll have to switch to premium gas tho if you dont already run premium.

also, my friends car was burning a little oil under high boost. i believe he switched to a slightly different grade oil (5w50 i believe tho dont quote me) which is made for forced induction setups and i also believe that got rid of the vast majority of oil burning he saw.
