I'm looking in to ordering my injectors. Some of you know my setup already.

I have a GSR that I'm building, I'm looking at between 550 and 600 HP. I want to know what the minimum injector size that I need to run for this kind of power. (Not that I'm cheaping out and I want to run the minimum, it's just for the calculations that I'm doing).

Here's the second part, I'm running 8 injectors I have dual fuel rails. Now do I have to run whatever cc's divided by two because it's dual injector per cylinder?


What I mean is, if let's say I need 1000cc injectors to run 550-600 HP. Do I use 8 500cc injectors? Any help is greatly appreciated since I will be ordering them soon.

One more thing, I've always heard that high resistance injectors can be pushed more then low resistance??? Should I go with the 8 high resistance injectors or would that not really make a difference in my case?

 

Well, if your gonna run 8 injectors, I would run all saturated so you don't have to put in two resistor boxes, or 8 seperate resistors. I am not sure about the sizing, sorry.

 

Thanks for your quick reply. Well thats one of the reasons why I went dual rails. I dont want to run low resistance injectors and anything over 600cc's or so is low resistance so I figured go with 8 small injectors and keep them high resistance. I really dont want to have two injectors boxes. And like I said, I always heard the high resistance injectors are better anyway...can someone shed some light on this one?

If if HAD to run 8 injectors I would run two sets of 720's. If you can controll them separatley maybe a set of 550's and some 880's. I would rather just run one set of 1000's or 1200's. What happens if one injector goes bad ? In the single injector setup the one cylinder wont fire and be noticeable. In a dual injector setup your going to run real lean in that one cylinder!

Ya thats what I was thinking. Running two sets of 720cc's would be like having one set 1440cc's. This should be enough for my setup. I've thought of the injector thing alot and thats why I've decided to run 4 egt gauges that way I can monitor each cylinder seperatly so if an injector goes out I can see it right away.

Also, with my standalone they run together sort of, what it does is it devides the output between both banks so lets say you enter a variable of two for the injector, instead of sending 2 to one it would send 1 to each. Works nice.

 

I run 4 1000cc injectors and I'm at 515whp with alot of fuel to spare. If I were

I'm going with MSD injectors...now they make a 526cc and a 758cc. Would 8 526cc injectors be enough for my setup or should I go with 8 759cc injectors?

the advantage of running a staged setup is you can run a smaller first set and have good off boost and and idle charictaristics and when you need the big injector the second stage of injectors will activate and will be fine.

 

we have ran (4) 95lb injectors makin alittle over 600whp. idles like stock using hondata. 8 injectors is a waste of money imo for that kinda power. just weld the 4 other bungs get 4 1000cc injectors you'll be okay.

What injector's did you use?

 

You need about 1/2 pound of fuel to make 1 HP depending on the type of fuel you are using. Also remember you do not want to run the injectors at 100% duty cycle.

i run 4 1000cc injectors also i was just stating some of the advantages of staged injectors and pointing out if he were to run this setup i wouldent run 2 sets of the same size kinda defeats the purpose. just run the 1000 than.
