Vtec Tranny
i was wondering if i can use a vtec tranny (from a 1998 dx) even though i have a d15b7 engine (i have 1992 eg), if i can is there any modifications needed to do the tranny swap? if u can please answer quickly bc i might be buying the tranny today its only 200. thanks in advance, you guys always help me.
There is no such thing as a Vtec tranny. You are talking about a transmission off of a D16y7 (with crappy long *** gears) if you are asking about a 1998 Civic Dx. Get the transmission from a 92-95 SI, 92-95 EX or a 96-00 EX and put it onto your motor if you are wanting a good short transmission.
Also, any 92-00 tranny from a D series motor will bolt onto your D series motor.

No need to even transfer it, the clutch is bolted to the flywheel, which stays on the engine!

i think all D series trannies match up with d series engines, and all B series trannies match up with b series engines. but the two cannot be mixed. i don't even think the 1998 dx had vtec. only in the ex/si and a economical form in the HX
