Clutch went to the floor, what happened?
Hey guys, I just had one of the Exedy clutches (the one thats like barely performance, stock pressure feel) installed in my stock integra. I've been driving it for a week with no problems at all. The car is my daily driver so I take it easy on it no matter what, breaking in a clutch or not.
Anyway, on my way to work today I pressed in the clutch and it just popped and went to the floor. It's a 93 integra so its cable.
Anyone have any idea of what it might be? Installer error or a part broke? I looked at the cable for a second and it seemed ok...

Just had this happen to my teg. Turned out the clutch release fork spring had broken. The part is cheap but unfortunately the gearbox has to come off to fix it

I don't know exactly what that is, but just from the name it sounds like that could be the type of thing that broke. Where is it in the assembly?

Im not sure how to explain this properly, hopefully this makes sense
The spring holds the release bearing onto the release fork so it can pull the bearing back when you release the clutch pedal. Its not actually inside the gearbox and only takes 5 mins to replace once the box is out of the car
hth

It sounds like it is going to be a broken clutch cable. Have someone watch when you push in the clutch and see if the other side of the cable is moving.

yeah thats what I first thought, but I just had it towed to my cousins house to check it out. A coworker actually picked me up this morning on the side of the road and I didn't want to make him late playing around with the car.
I inspected the cable when I was by myself for 10 secs and didnt see it actually broken off anywhere, but half of it is encased in the rubber sleeve.

Well fellas, as it turns out it was just the cable unseating itself. I would have noticed it if I got to look at it, but I just figured it'd be easier to just let my cousin look at it at his house. I expected the worst and it came out much better. Life isn't so bad sometimes
Thanks for the responses.
