Default Just Boosted: Car Runs, But No Boost & Solid CEL?

I just boosted my 01' Prelude, and I started the car up, and after I let the turbo break in, I went for a drive to check everything. So I was driving and it wouldn't build any boost, and I cot a CEL, and checked it and it is solid. I just wanted to see if the car would start, so everythng wasnt all finnished. I heve an open dp without either o2 sensors, and my MBC is at the lowest setting to help prevent the boost from spiking with the open dp, so do you think either of there things contribute to my problems? Also, is it normal for the mani to get extremely, extremely hot? thanks guys.

Thats what I was thinking, but I dont think the car would run if the ecu was bad, cause it started rught up and I drove it for a few minutes, so if it was bad I would think that it wouldnt even start.

Oh yeah I am running a Cartech fmu , and stock ecu. (until I can get a real EMS)

Tell us more about your setup man

I got a Constant CEL and then it went away...I dont know what happened. I just recently went turbo and I dorve my car around the block same as you....wouldnt build boost. Recheck everything and I had a exhaust manifold nut off so I had an exhaust leak. Do you have an intercooler. Yesterday one of my intercooler pipes came out of the coupler and I wouldnt build boost. So check and recheck and then recheck again all your connections. Also listen for leaks in your engine bay. You can use the throttle to give it some gas. And it is very normal for your exhaust manifold to get REALLY hot. Turbos create alot of heat. also reset your ecu and see if you get another solid CEL

Hey, thanks alot for the help man, I appreciate it.

Here is my setup:
stock H22A4, t3/to4e .63 ar, stainless shorty. tial 38mm at 7.25 psi. cartech fmu, walbro 255hp, 2.5" IC piping, trust type 24 ic, dsm bov, and a 2.5"flared to 3" downpipe with e-cutout, which should be welded up this week. and also I just ordered an obd1 P72, and will be running uberdata as soon as I get enough $. also, wouldnt i build a little boost even if there was a leak because i thing the wastegate might have a tiny leak. thanks everybody.

I would definitley check for a wastegate that could be stuck open, or something stupid like that. Also you aren't running with your O2 sensors, might be the reason for the CEL. And if your talking Turbo mani getting hot, hell yea its gonna be hot, its a turbo.

No o2 sensors will give there own codes.

Ok, I reset the ecu and started the car and it ideled and started just fine without a check engine light, but right as I gave it a little bit of throttle the cel light came on and the idel dropped and I could tell it went into limp mode, and I checked it and it is still the solid code, so does anybodey have an idea on this, and do you think it will be okay to drive about 25 miles to the exhaust shop and have my dp finnished without doing any damage with the cel on, thanks guys.

No O2 sensors will instantly give you a CEL. That is why you have a CEL. Pull the code and see...

The turbo mani gets soo hot that you can see it glow on some nights. Sounds like wastegate is stuck open or seized turbo. With the DP off, sping the turbine wheel and see if it moves. How do you know you not getting any boost, does the gauge not work? Is it hooked up properly?

Ok, well I got my downpipe finnished, and the check engine light went away , even with the cutout open there is no cel light, but I still have no boost. The car is driving like it was n/a, but no vtec for some reason. but I have checked all of my hose connections, and have a line coming off of the compressor going to the side port on the tial, and the top port is just open, and I don't know why the wastegate would be stuck open, also the car starts to overheat after driving it for a while, so with these syptoms, help me out if you guys know what the problem could be, thanks.

well, you can eliminate the map sensor because you mention that you haven't boosted it yet but your o2 sensors not being hooked sounds like i might be the problem.

well I now have the o2 sensors in, and currently have NO cel codes, and i have a missing link and am only running 7psi so the map shouldnt be a prob, but I just dont know why I am not getting boost.
