with a vtec head on a LS block with a LS water pump and LS oil pump, do i still use a LS timing belt or a VTEC timing belt (if they are different) because a vtec head is taller which might require the longer timing belt.

i guess to do the swap, i must get the golden eagle dowels for the head, lsvtec oil line kit, p28 ecu socketed for hondata and a LS headgasket plus the 2 vtec wires to run.

 

the wiring part is good. i beleive i never did an ls swap.
but their must be a lot of info on the HT site

from what ive heard, if you use the ls water pump, ls timing belt. if you use a gsr/itr water pump, then a gsr/itr timing belt.

 

gsr belt or typer belt

 

you use the timing belt that belongs with the water pump, it dosent matter with oil pumps but i would use a vtec one i recomend a 94 gsr one, so for example if you have a ls water pump you use a ls timing belt and vise versa

 

Make sure to use GSR head studs.

 

thanks! looks like wit a LS water pump i need LS t-belt. i will continue to use my newer LS oil pump. thats alot of work to do a oil pump.

AZN, r they GSR head studs? if so, how much? how much for the hondata gasket? is the gasket for b16 heads itr gsr heads?
