Default timing belt problem

well the other day i was going to change my timing belt and it looks like i ran into a serious problem. I cant take the crank pulley bolt off. Ive broken breaker bars, cheetah pipes and even got a guy to come from the chevy dealership from down the road to come with a an impact that pushes 600 pounds of torque. The bolt is budjing. Is there any way else i cant take this bolt off

Yep...1 tough bolt. usually an ingersoll rand 2131 impact can break them loose, if you have enough air pressure and flow from your compressor. There is also a tool for holding the crank pulley. http://tools.batauto.com/index...etail

Goto the dealership and have them break it loose for you, thats what I did, I didn't even try to myself, been thru that before. The shaft and pulley mating surfaces are splined so no worries when you driving it home to do your work, tell the shop just to snug the bolt back up after they break it loose for you...

I got the same trouble same time ago. It was a two-person job. This is what we did.
One of us applied torque to the bolt while the other one hit the wrench with a 3 lbs hammer and the bolt just pop loose. We used these tools.
19 mm hex socket, two long extension, one ½” drive, 3 feet pipe, one piece of wood,
Once we had secured the pulley so it will not turn, we put the socket, the two extensions and the ½” drive. At the place the drive wrench and the extension form an elbow (90degree) we put a piece of wood, to support it (we measure the height of the elbow to the floor and cut the wood it was1 1/2” square) so it wont bend while the torque was applied or fell out of the bolt. We stretched the drive with the 3 feet long pipe and one one of us pushed from there, the other hit the drive in the same axis of the bolt slightly with the hammer. It was piece of cake
Hopefully this will help you
