VTEC engagement is around 3700-4000 rpms. that is where i have noticed it at before, so im not 100% sure when it actually engages.
you could get a vtec controller hooked up to ur car and see when it engages also

What's a VTEC controller, how does it work and how to hook it up?
I've read (and saved) threads showing howto tap a wire from VTEC solenoid to get the signal, is it something like that??
Thanks!!
