this is the relay that controls power to the ecu and injectors , possibly fuel pump as well, not sure.

anyway, they have been known to fail in hot weather. So your hot weather problem may be related to the relay.

i had a thread about this not long ago and a ton of us are having this problem...some say it's a knock sensor. i thought that it may be some kind of temperature dependent sensor: ECT or IAT. some ppl also said to check your grounds too. if you figure anything out PLEASE POST!

Wouldn't the car throw a check engine light if the relay failed? I live at 6000ft above sea level. When I come down from the mountains, alot of times I'll throw check engine for IAT. I dont know if it's failing or if it's just the rapid change in altitude. My car doesn't run any different and when I turn off my car the check engine goe's away. My car doesn't run the p13, I use a chipped p61(US gsr 1.7) and no matter what program I put in, none of them run the best in hot weather.
