Default h22 hatch suspension-spring rate question??

i'm going to be building a h22 hatch next month

what spring rate is recommended....
I'm leaning towards coilovers with a 500/400 front/rear rate

think this is good, or should i go stiffer or softer?

I'm not to worried about a rough ride, just want it to handle half decent.

mostly it will be a street car, with some light/occasional drag/road course racing.

ideas...opinions???

yeah.. what u have in mind should work great, especially in a hatch. if they are actual springs it'll be alot stiffer ride than stock, but it will be somewhat smooth too...

if they are them shorty coilovers.. it'll be pretty bouncy.

For street my car handles well and I have my CX spring with JDM springs. FOr racing applications, Ground Control makes coilovers with "hh2a spring rates. Give them a hollar, it goes for 300 dollars.

It's going to handle like a brick. Mine did. You need good struts and most struts can only handle up to 400lb spirings.. unless you spend over $1K on em. Progress makes a package for H22 hatches that is really good. The key is a big fat rear sway bar to help dial out some of that understeer. Check out http://www.beaksproducts.com for their kit if you don't like progress.

Good luck.

It's the best (simplest) way to keep your subframe from tweaking and bending. I like it.
