Default Taking out the pin that holds the shiftlinkage on...help me please!

i put a GSR motor in my del sol and everything is ready to go but i have a big problem... The pin that holds in the shiftlinkage is stuck. Ive tryed every thing to get it out used a punch th same size as the pin and beat on it..nothing used a 10mm bolt and threaded it in a little and hit it with power...nothing so i thought about drillin it out but when i got it going the drill broke off inside the pin... Im so screwed if anyone can help i would thank u much...

I used one of the long 10mm bolts that holds the ac condensor to the bracket, I had extra bolts... not sure about you, I had the shifter in neutral the hold time I was banging on it and no luck, then I put it in gear (1st) for some reason it got easier... Good Luck

use a pneumatic chisel to drive the punch.

use an 8 MM punch. if you use a screwdriver or anything else that's not the correct size it will just simply expand the pin as you pound on it thus making it not want to come out.

5/16" pin punch or 8mm if you can find one. O, and a nice weighted hammer would help. If you have air tools a pneumatic would make that pin like cake.

we had the same problem. take the linkage out with the motor/tranny and hit it out from the other side. much easier this way.

i hate these fuking pins. i always hit them out with a 12mm bolt. meaning the head is 12mm. the bolt will fit perfectly ontop of the pin and slide right out.

then when reinstalling i just use that 12mm bolt and put a nut on the other side of it. this way i dont have to dick with it again. it works everytime and ive never had a problem with it falling off or breaking

yeah...but when you use the nut and bolt, doesn't that make your shifter real lose?

i have a nut and bolt on mine right now and my shift is damn lose. i haven't missed a gear, but i would rather have a pin instead of the nut and bolt.
