My Vtec oil pressure switch
I am throwing a code 22...the vtec oil pressure switch, I checked the ecu, and the switch itself is getting voltage....vtec engages, but seems to be "not fully engaging"....it switches but not much happens, it still travels through the rpms ok, but there's a serious lack of power. It's on my D16Y8 in my crx.....It looks to be leaking a bit, which is probably due to a leaking spool solinoid gasket. Could it be that the screen is clogged; that its leaking; or a faulty spool solinoid assembly that is causing the code?
Let me know what you think, or what has happened in past experiences, or what I could do to fix it.
Thanks.

the first thing i would do is remove the VTEC solenoid assembly.
Take it appart and clean it thorughly with carb cleaner. Put a new gasket and try it again.
Also double check the ground on the VTEC pressure switch. That could be the cause as well. That plug has two wires, a blue one and a black one. Check the black one and make sure you have good ground (return) on that wire.

I checked the ground yesterday when I checked the wiring for the ecu and the other wire as well....so I must only assume that it is a mechanical problem with the spool solinoid itself. Thanks for the advise, I'll clean it up and see how it is....If that doesn't work I may try one that does work currently, and go from there.
