I need to cut off the bolts that connect the header to the cat... How much compression are those damn things. If i cut the bolt off, with the bitch spring out and hit me in the head?

Why dont you just unbolt them. I dont think they have that much pressure in them, but be careful.

Clamp a pair of vice-grips onto the spring before cutting or unscrewing the bolt. Safety glasses are a smart choice too!

I found a decident way... I took my dremel and cut about 3/8 the way through the bolt. Took my torque wrench and started to loosen them... I just my foot from not under the car. Since it weakened the bolt it just snapped. Took about 5 minutes!!! I put some duck tape on the springs to keep them from flying out, worked well!!! Ghetto but o well, they re off!!

mine were such a bitch, seriously used almost a whole can of pb blaster, and then some wd40 for kicks, and i couldnt budge them

so i got a sawza [a reciprocating saw], and just cut them off...spring only went like a foot and a half, just make sure your head is on the bolt side...then run off to home depot and buy some new ones for 4 bucks

on second thought, buy them first
