spring bolt twisting
ok so i ordered a magnaflow for my ej1 (very nice exhaust). after installing it i noticed it rattled on the bumper. i took a extra hangar with a strap on it and right before the bumper i rigged it up to stop it from rattling.
well i noticed it was leaking a couple days ago. went to look up under there to find spring bolt coils all over each other and its all messed up. got nex bolts and springs and put a new one on it messed up right away.
talked to honda they said to clean the surface where the spring sits on. i have a dc 4-2-1 header. has any one else had this problem? would it b the hangar twisting the exhaust???
it has cost me 10 dollars for the new springs now i have to buy more. just trying to find a solution before wasting more money.
sorry for the long *** thread
cliff notes for the lazy: spring bolt twistin what the hell is causing it???

Re: spring bolt twisting (sohctodohc)
Take out both bolts so you can make sure there isn't an incredible about of stress on them to keep the holes in both pipes lined up (holes for the bolts.)

It could also be the springs collapsed, Do what the previous guy said, if theres not a terrible about of stress pulling on the springs get some new ones.
