no intake mani gasket cause car not to start?
i took off my head to replace headgasket, check my valves ect. and when i took off the intake mani form the head the ******* honda cardboard mani gasket ripped into pieces. so for temporary solution i put everything back in except the gasket...now my car wont start. it can either be the intake mani gasket or i hooked up wires wrong cuz i didnt label. whacha think?
I dont know for sure but this is my .02 cents. I think if theres no gasket then your not getting enough gas/air mixture into the chamber becasue it would leak. But im more leaning towards that you hooked up things wrong.
but with wire plugs there's only few that could be plugged wrong cuz they all have different shape plugs...would those matter if they are put wrong if the plugs fit? even so ive tried i think all different combinations with the plugs that do fit in others...and i can see ur point about the leak...that would cause vacuum leak which causes fuel to not pump to the injectors?
check the timing, check the firing order, check if everything is working, check oil, check the compression. If anything a no gaskte would make your idle really high because of the leak.
It should still start, because when you don't tighten all the bolts on the intake matifold and get a leak it still starts for me.

firing order is good, the car turns over but doesnt go vroom...(dunno how to explain it) i can hear the sparkplugs firing and the starter going..just doesnt kick in...i did break my timing belt and thats one of the reason i was checking my vavles..would that cause anything...(i got new valves)
