quick question
ok ive been doing some research lately on b20 vtec set ups. As of right now i have a b16 internally stock. A lot of info ive read on doing a b20 vtec say to replace the water pump, oil pump, bearings, timing belt, etc. My question is this. If i just throw the stock b16 head on the stock b20 block, but it together correctly with an lsvtec kit like the one golden eagle sells, will i be alright? or is it imperrative to replace everything recommended? thanks
I'd replace it all, unless you know the history of you're motor.
My old Z6 seemed mechanicaly strong and ran perfect when I bought my '92 Si, until a few months later when the oil pump went bad and resulted in a spun rod bearing at 70k miles.
I'd do it just for the peace of mind.
