Default problem with cam install

Heres the scoop.. i bought a set of used toda b and vavle springs..
installed it and turned it manual on the crank.. the retainer was to be dead tight so little free play on the belt.... everything seem ok. so fired up the car.. the valves are clicking very loud.. almost like gatling gun.. have a buddy that has a simmilar set up his vavletrain sounds fine just a bit louder then stock.. but on my car the sounds are much much louder.. anyone shed some light? and possible solutions?

sounds like you just need to adjust your valves

to test the lma's you have to take them out of the head and test them on a spring pressure tester(i forget how much pressure they are supposed to have though)..but its most likely not that.I had a similar problem, and it turned out to be wrong valve lash settings.I set them to factory settings(skunk2 stage 2 cams) but adjusted them so the feeler would go in easily, which is why they were too loose...just in case, here's the valve settings.. .007 intake and .008 exhaust.

Anyone else have this problem after installing camshafts?

I'm having the same problem with loud ticking coming from the valvetrain. I'm using Buddy Club spec 3+ cams, ITR valvetrain, crower ti retainers, and valve lash set to .007/.008. The damn thing is loud as hell.

Regardless what you say, I think it is the Valve Lash and I think you should double check it!

pee, are you sure stock springs are sufficient for that setup?

I dont know what it could be. Id say valve lash also. What are you running the intake and exhaust lash at?
