Loud valvetrain after cam/spring install
stock b20z bottom end, stock 1st gen b16a head with the exception of GSR cams. Car ran fine like this and I didn't have 'the noise' I'm having now.
I installed some 2001-spec ITR cams, along with Portflow inner and ITR outer valvesprings. All else remained the same as it was before.
When I got it all assembled and drove on it (and up to this day, months later) it sounds like the valvetrain is just really loud. I have adjusted the valves many times but this doesn't just sound like noisy valves. It's kind of a 'flutter' sound. Like if you imagined 100 pigeons flying away at the same time; something like that
Anyone have an idea of what this might be? I was thinking for some reason that it might be old, tired Lost Motion Assemblies? Any input is appreciated.

iam going to say its your lost motion assembleys. they are made to suppress the noise of your valve train.
Interesting... I'm still using stock retainers. Stock intake valvesprings are dual, but is that the same for exhaust? I'll be putting in some new retainers soon enough anyway, and I bought some ITR LMAs to put in as well.
Thanks for the ideas guys.
