CF Hood Fitment
Today I bought myself a Carbon Fibre Hood from a buddy of mine, for a faily reasonable price. However the fitment is a little off. Any suggestions on what I could do to make it fit better, without the use of gay hood pins? The driver's side sits near perfect, but the passangers side is sitting a little loose. Any suggestions that would assist me, would be appriciated.

I'm sure he meant ''gay'' meaning the looks of them..IMHO i think they look like *** as well...but SAFETY is first.
To the thread creator...are you sure the hood isn't warped?
Did it fit ok on your friends car?
*ALSO*
In the haynes manual it shows you how to adjust your hood...and when you took off your stock hood you should of marked the bolts.
Goodluck bro

Yes hood pins serve a purpose, but in my opinion they look gay because they ruin the cleaness of the car. And the hood fit quite good when we were test fitting it, but when he drilled the holes for the washer nozzles it moved, and now sits a little funny on the passangers side.
It's a brand new hood, and was never on another vehicle.

Depending on how it is off, you can adjust the fenders in and out with the 10mm mounting bolts. If that isn't your problem you can adjust the rubber stops. Its kinda hard to give tips though if we don't know what the problem is. If the height is wrong i've heard of people stacking some books on there hood over a hot night. My CF hood never fit properly no matter what i did. I got pissed, sold it and put my stock hood back on. Hood pins look like complete ****, and are a pain in the ***, I'd much rather run a stock hood than have goofy pins in my hood.

Try the things people on here have already said. My CF hood was not quite right on the passenger side when i bought it so i just moved the fender out a litlle and now the gap is perfect. If its a height issue turn the rubber stops that the hood sit on by the headlight.

Loosen the two bolts that hold it to the car, i think they are 10mm. Once they are a little loose hit fender the way you want it to move. On my car the gap was too tight on the pass side. So i moved the fender out about 1/4 of an inch. Now the gap is perfect. Dont forget to tighten the bolts afterward.

Could someone tell me how I could fix this fitting problem? It seems like the hood either sticks out over the bumper too much or the bumper is tucked in...

looks like you need to push the hood latch down a little because the front/bottom has a gap. also get the mr gaskets hood locks, they are the only hood pins i like and i just need to put them on.

You have to put them in very carefully because if you dont you have a good chance of cracking the hood and that sucks (trust me i know
)
What you do is mark where you want to drill at. Then when your done with all your markings (measure twice (or 1000 times) cut once) then start with the smallest bit drill you have and drill through the BOTTOM. After that get like a Dremmel and slowly go around to make the hole bigger until you get the size you want and lock it up.

People could argue that installing an unpainted CF body panel on anything other than a charcoal or black car does the same thing.

Well it's not a gap issue, the hood lines up almost near perfect, it's more of a height issue. The passangers side sits higher up then the drivers side. I've tried playing with the rubber stops but nothing.
What if I get you guys some pictures?

What is your definition of a "quality" hood? I've read accounts of failing latches on hoods made by a number of well-known manufacturers.
