Exactly.

If you're in ever in doubt, it's obvious something you need to do.

Hood pins...

Broken Windshield/broken cf hood/dead people...

I use these super small ones made by moroso and they work perfect.

Your a ******* idiot. These are FUNCTIONAL. If you refuse to use pins and the hood flys up and destorys your windsheild and possibly gets you into a wreck because you think hood pins are ricey, then I'll be the first to laugh at you.

EDIT: Also, it's not about how much hp you make. Its the speed at which you are travelign that can lead to a hood flying up.

Exactly. Not using hoodpins just because they'll ruin the "look" of your mad tite unpainted CF hood y0! is ricey indeed.

if you got one of the new vis hoods it is not nessacary you get hood pins because they reinforced the latches but why risk it if you are racing all the time and so forth, i dont use hood pins cause i rarely see 100 mph and such and i dont race often so do what you like but if you are making 10-12 second 1/4 mile runs at 110+ mph get the pins dont be stupid

I had a friend with a VIS CF hood. The latch broke off and slapped the hell out of his windshield. Good thing he was getting off the freeway soon anyways. So yeah to pins

noob slayer is right but no need for names if the guy says he make 400hp that does'nt mean you need hood pins. if you've got to ask people if you need hood pins because you've got "400hp" then the first thought that would come to my head is rice, if he would have said i race at speeds over 100mph then i would say yes, hood pins would be a good idea. ricey mcricerton you must be a "******* idiot" becuase people like you make honda-tech a bad place to try to ask for help.

lol if you hood flies up at those speeds I don't even wonna know what will happen. I won't be suprised if doesn't colapse your roof and fucken kill you.

Hood pins aren't rice (well if you got stock hood it kind of is). If you don't want to put hood pins in your carbon fiber hood you are just causing yourself more problems. Your hood will have a pendency to try to fly up at speed like 40mph anything over that will try to rip out the mount. Those mounts can be easily ripped out of the hood with time.

BTW there is an EG in my school that didn't have hood pins and his hood flew up and bashed his windshield and cracked his hood.

When you drill the holes for the hood pins, do you have to seal the area around it? so stuff doesnt get inside?(kinda stupid question but I was just wondering)

P.S. I love when no0bs talk crap on mods, makes them look even no0bier.

Rice has nothing to do with the question at all. Its people like you who frustrate me because you unnecessarily stereotype items such as hood pins. You don't know what his setup is, so you can't say if he does or does not make 400 hp. You did however post fictional information. You are the the type of member that hurts a informative message board. And yes, I'm a "******* idiot". Ask anyone here.

To the original poster. If your not wild about the look of the hood pins you can always go with dzus fastners and paint them black or dark grey. They're very low key.
