SRS light stays on
yeah, i just bought another EG and the seller told me that the car was jump started awhile back and since then, the red srs light has been on. how do i put this light out. i've tried pulling the srs fuse and also tried reseting the ecu. neither helped so..what do you guys think?
did you try reseting the SRS light? I noticed you pulled the fuse and tried resetting the ECU...those won't usually work...the SRS system (and its own ECU) will hold memory regardless.
yup...if its on and the horn doesn't work, most likely the cable reel needs to be replaced. It shouldn't cost you more than $50 for a new one (search on H-T...there are some threads where people have gotten them for about $46...they have places where to get them.....i can't remember where, though).

word...mine is doing that too! i swapped out steering columns a couple of weeks ago. i forgot to plug the SRS plug that runs to the fuse box under the dash. plugged it in and everything was coo. then a couple of days later the light is back on. two days ago my horn doesnt work. also, when i turn the steering wheels half way, i hear/feel a rubbing sound coming from the steering wheel.

I put in a new OEM steering wheel and everything worked fine for about an hour. Then the SRS light came on and my horn stopped working. Its been like for for about a year now.

SRS light, no horn, and rubbing sound all point to the cable reel. When you install a new one, you have to align it. turn it all the way clockwise and then 2 turns counterclockwise. You'll know its aligned when the little yellow mark shows in the window when the wheel is between straight and 1/3 turn counterclockwise.
