Default Hybrid overheating

I have a 96 civic hatchback with a 96 gsr motor and ecu wired up with a 96-98 civic ex harness. I noticed the temp gauge on my Si cluster reaching an ultimate high tonight before I parked. My rad fan turns on and everything but is it suppost to turn off when I take the key out the ignition? Also I checked the reserve bottle and it was slightly low but I filled it up with clean water to the max level. My check engine light is on but im assuming its on cause of my second o2 sensor which isnt wired up yet. Any explination what caused this?

try putting more fluid into the radiator... if its completely topped off id replace the thermostat.

Most likely the thermostat is stuck/done. Change that out or just remove it for now. The CEL can be anything.... check it out and then see what code is being thrown so you can trouble shoot the problem.

Glasses of water? As in tap water, not distilled water like you're supposed to use for anything involving your radiator?

If you could put that much in, you probably just got air bubbles going past your thermostat...

Yep I used water from my garage to fill up my radiator, anything wrong with that? If so I wasnt aware. I drove it last night as well and it was fine. I even toyed around against my friends LS teg on the highway and the temp was fine. Well anyway thanks for the help fellas, im gonna bleed the rad later.
