new suspension = sound comming from back right corner
just installed tokico illumina shocks with H&R race springs on my 92 civic hb. Took her out for a test drive and there is a sound like 2 mettal peices knocking together. everything seems to be mouted tight. I have no clue what it could be.
Any idea?

Go back and check for any "binding" or "rubbing" between any of the suspension components. Also, check if all the bolts are tightened down and check the spring/strut assembly. Happy hunting.
did you put that big washer back onto the shock rod? did you torque the upper strut mount to the strut tower? is the upper center nut (on the rod) tight? Finally, does the spring sit in it's perch?
Yeh I tightened all the bolts that are sitting in the strut tower....Im guessing if I check all this that Im going to have to take the assembly out and then get another wheel alignment....ah well I got to do it I guess....funny how the sound is only comming from one corner
I put the same springs on my car, and the conclusion I came to was that when yo hit a bump the body of the car wants to move up away from the ground and the trailing arm stays down to the ground stretching the strut and allowing the spring to move freely until the strut is compressed again, blame h&r and sorry but suck it up, or change your springs.

you didnt install soemthing properly then. double check your work. make sure your spring is seater correctly and the rubber piece is on top correctly and that the bushings are okay. have someone bounce the car and see if you can better pinpoint the area to inspect.
My 98 hatch was doing the same thing from the right rear also after i installed h&r race springs on oem shocks. I just redid the suspension on the rear right and it just went away.

There's another thread about this as well: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=875207
I have the same problem (KYB w/ Prokit) and checked everything twice. Even switched the shock assy between the left and right sides. Still does it. It wasn't as bad when I was headed to the track and I had my tires and gear in back.
I'm thinking it might be common because that back corner isn't 'loaded' during normal conditions and can have more travel? I'm not sure, but I know everything is installed properly, and it only does it once and a while, so I'm not worried about it.
