I am new to nitrous and am interested in trying it but.......
Who has ever had a nitrous bottle in a daily driver in a hot weather state like AZ.
I am just curious as to what will happen to the bottle in a car on a day where temps can reach 110 degrees with in car temps potentialyl in the 140-150's?
I think I know the answer but I wanted verification of my ignorance. Thanks guys.

It will hit hard as a ************. I had my bottle in my car one hot day and when I opened it it was at like 1200psi, when I sprayed it took off!

Ok that is encouraging but what is considered ridiculously hot. Like 140 degrees? 150? Or way higher than that?
yea it will hit hard, but if you tuned it at a certain PSI, then with the higher NItrous pressures, then the fueling will run lean .
But the pressure wont go up that much unless you like have it sitting in the sun all day. mine was in my hatch many of times at the track in almost 100 degree days and i still needed to use my bottle heater.

IDK if somehting is wrong, but my bottle heater never really brought the pressure up more than 100psi, if that. Espically on hot days, it didn't do anything.
thats becuase you prob still have the thermostat on . when that thermo senses 80degrees in the trunk it wont kick on . i bypassed that crap when i had mine. 1st time i had a prob with that , i ripped it out and worked fine.
I remember going to an NDRA race and walked by a Ford Lightning truck in the parking lot. All of a sudden, we heard a lot pop and a hiss...then the cabin started to fill with a white cloud. His nitrous bottle must have popped the safety cap and sprayed it all over the cabin. His windows were rolled up and it was at least in the high 90's in the shade that day! Luckily no one was in the car.
This is why you should install the vent tube through the floor to the outside.

100+ degree weather + closed windows + full bottle = safety cap blowing. What's so hard to believe?
BTW, not turning off the bottle warmer and having a short circuit = one blown a$$ Maxima and half a garage. Anyone remember the pics? LOL!

i think that was BS too. i have had my car in 100 degree weather many of times with the windows closed and never once did my bottle get even remotley close to over heating and blowing up.
Did you see this personally?

Yes, as we were walking by the truck.
Where did you have your bottle? In the trunk? Or in the cabin?
Oh well...could have been the warmer being turned on. Who knows? I wasn't about to stick around to find out really...

I know with NX, it takes 3000 psi to blow your safety valve. If you afraid of this, I would make sure you have a blow down tube, so that nitrous vents to the outside of the car if it happen.
As for hot weather, a system likes to see 900 to 1100 psi, the warmer the bottle, the more pressure built. This is way a bottle heater is recommended.

lol nitrous is not flammable.
Nothing will happen unless your bottle pressure reaches 3000psi, and then the only thing that will happen is the safety pop valve opens up to relieve pressure thus preventing any explosion.
BTW, you can replace the safety pop valve before you refill next time.
