Default Nitrous and Elevation.

Is nitrous performance affected by elevation like turbos and superchargers? I have a friend who ran a 13.3 here in Utah (4500 feet). Will he run faster in Cali?
I have heard yes and no. Has anyone actually witnessed quicker times at lower elevations with nitrous?

I would have to say yes jsut because of the fact that atmospheric pressure affects every aspect of a car. I think that if he ran in SoCal that he would in fact pull off a 12 second pass.

The elevation effects for a nos car is small. Basically the nitrous power will stay the same since it injects its own fuel and oxygen and isn't affected by the density of the air outside. The increase he'll see will be from the na portion, when he first takes off without the nitrous and a little bit with it on. If I had to guess I would say he'll pick up a couple tenths but thats just a guess.

I agree with QuickHonda, the gains will be small, but it will still be a gain over a high elevation.

Do you think the gains would be smaller than an NA car?
For instance, I have another friend who ran .5 seconds faster in vegas (all motor).

My buddy is convinced that he will run the same at a lower elevation because some people have told him that a nitrous car isnt affected by elevation. They say that what ever is lost at a higher elevation is gained back when your shooting nitrous into the motor.
Does that seem right?

I am guessing that the time change would be very similar between a na and nitrous setup. Unless you are running one of those funny cars. not funny Ha Ha either
