Default torn.............?

whats up guys.....here's my problem.......i want to go b-series, the thing is i could spend 1700 on a b16 with lsd tranni and have serious torque issues or i could take a b18a block i happen to have (bad rods) and have it rebuilt for ls/vtec to make up for the lack of torque with the b16.....basically i'm torn...if ne one out there is in a similar situation or has done either i would appreciate some pro's and con's for either choice.......thankx guys

If you have the b18 block start building that up with the money I'd hate to see a good block just collect dust.

BUT on the other hand I dont think the torque issues will be as sufficient as the screaming top end of a B16.

just a couple $0.01

well if the block is ready for ls/vtec i'd build that....if not get the b16a swap then build the b18a block. then you have a ls/vtec with lsd tranny.

just get a good set of LS rods, then some ctr, or 1g b16 pistons, a b16 head, and then buy the ls/vtec oil line kit and everything to run it. Get a nice set of cams and ur ready to go on a decently cheap build.

or just build the ls, my buddy put down 162whp with crower 3's, springs, retainers and a dc sports header.

Should be doing mid 180s just with the addition of b16 pistons.

what would the diff in compression be between the ctr pistons and 1g b16 pistons.....and is the stock crank gonna hold up for the higher R's........from a better set of cams (ctr\itr)............

for all the advice
