2 gear grind

Default 2 gear grind

i have a 92 4dr civic with 1.5l with a hydro 5speed. when i drive normaly the trans is fine but if i race or run it hard it grinds going into 2nd. how could i fix that?
also i pan to do a motor swap but i don't know what motor i want i will be daily driving and friday night at the track but need it reliable to drive everyday, can you help me on this too

ok well do u want to fix ur tranny or do a swap for a swap i would go with a b16 ,or gsr swap and if u are gonna just fix ur tranny go buy a new tranny single cam tranny are liek 50 to a 100 thats in vegas if u do get a tranny get a ex is better i hope i helped u

50 to 100 bucks for a new tranny? I alwasy thought they were more than that.

But he is right about the EX tranny. the gear are a little bit shorter to give you a little better acc.

yeah, thats your 2nd gear synchro. if it was a b series, id say to replace the synchro with something better but, since its a d, buy another tranny.

try some gm syncromesh before you buy a new tranny.

i won't be doing a swap till winter so i just want to fix the trans till then, where can i get gm syncromesh? i just got the car 2wks ago and the guy cut the springs and want to get dropzone coilovers are they any good. thanks

get GM synchromesh Friction modified. part #12377916

You can get it at any GM dealership. It works wonders..
