Default Replacing CV joints

How hard is it to replace the CV joints yourself? Does anyone have a diagram on how it is supposed to be done? Mine are really starting to get bad now.

It's not that hard, but it's a bitch tho.
The CV's are locked with a ring. You'd have to whack the joint just roght to slip it over that ring.

Once it's off, it's a simple matter of slipping the new CV on, slotting it back into the hub, and rolling out.

As long as your just replacing the whole joint its not to bad, take the nut off the end of it, take the bolt outa the bottom of the wheel hub (dont know actual name of part sorry) and the bolt outa the bottom of the fork and then just get under car and use big screwdriver to pry the cv shaft outa the tranny. Then just rinse and reverse procedure, i found that when putting them back in to get it over the ring to get it back into tranny, i slid it up to where it stops then put it back in the wheel hub and started the nut on it (so you dont mess up the threads on the end of shaft) and smacked it once or twice with a BFH (Hammer). Worked for me First time you do it, its a pain, after that it gets easier (for other side ect.)

Just replace the axels as whole re-built units, it's easier, less time cosuming, and cheaper in the long run.
Buy honda remans. Warrantied for 3 years, unllimited milers.

Just be sure to put tranny oil on the splines before you but the new joints in. It will help next time you have to replace the points. Also, if you notice that your joints are bad (like you hear clicking when you turn the wheel and accelerate), I'd just buy remanufactured joints. If only your boot is worn, you can just get new boots and put them on. You will want to get the CV boot band tool to get the bands on tight.
