Default new civic owner

Hi everyone,

I just recently picked up a 90 civic hb dx with minor rust, which will be taken care of soon.

I've been looking around h-t for the past couple months getting info for what engine swap i would do to it. I'm leaning towards a b16 right now. I'm looking for the best power/cost ratio i can get so would a ls or sohc vtec be a better choice for me? Not sure what kind of numbers those produce. Yeah i know each setup can be different but in general which is the most powerful and cheapest. You can go all out and spends thousands on any engine, but with just the bare minimum setup which has the best power/cost ratio.

Sorry to bother you all with newbish questions but i searched and couldn't find any straight forward answers.

B16 is good. My friend has one. has DC headers, new intake and thermal exhaust. he runs 15's in an 89 CRX.

Well it kinda depends on how much money u wanna spend. sohc-vtech is cheaper than an ls and has almost tha same hp. But if have tha money than get a b16 or gsr.

15s in a CRX with a swap and I/H/E? I'd be sad.

well i have about $2500 to spend on it right now. And if a b16 with I/H/E only runs 15s, thats kind of discouraging....
