Default Should I motor swap a GSR motor or go with some boost.

I currently have 00 SI and have the basic upgrades i/h/e. I want to put a lot more speed into it. This car is an everday driver but I want it to be as fast as possible. So what do you think should I go with Turbo or maybe swap a GSR motor. If you can tell me what you think can you give me some good websites to purchase this from.

having an si, and if you know what you are doing, you could get brand new short block for what you will spend on a gsr and swap the head over and it will be brand new. just some food for thought. knowing what i know now, i would have boosted a gsr instead of a b16. dont get me wrong it is nice, but i wish i had a gsr now.

I got a JDM B16a Gen2 but i wish i had gone with the GSR. You gotta love the torque on the gsr stock! that's how i feel about it.

Damn, I spent over $3100 for my B16a already, $2400 for the so called "complete swap" w/ everything cut, then I complete it with $700...I regret it so much because I can have myself a GSR with that money!

Get yourself a GSR!

Ok guys these are good comments you have posted so far. I have to this point a few choices help me decide the best one.

---picking up an lsd ($1000) and a toda stroker kit (another $2000) and putting that on my 00 SI and that should make a type r right there without the swap. (so I hear from somebody on ClubSi.com

--- Going with an all out GS-R motor swap.

--- Going with a B16a2 head and a GS-R block.

One more thing how much would each option net on HP you think.

Turbo that b16. When you want more power after than THEN move up to a bigger block. Then you can build it however you like 2.0, forged hella boost!

getting a GSR swap will cost roughly the same as a good turbo kit with intercooler....in my opinion it would be better to be all motor because its more reliable

Are you speaking from experience??

A turbo kit, if done right, will be just as reliable as a stock GSR, and will MUCH faster and more fun to drive.

All motor is less reliable if you try and make turbo like numbers, and takes a lot more cash!

you can do this. sell your b16 longblock or just the shortblock. buy a gsr longblock or shortblock. put that in and use your b16 tranny. then save up for boost.

if you want to use the gsr tranny, let me know, i'll trade you my gsr tranny for the b16 tranny.

i just read through two posts on the first page...im really suprised that a moderator hasnt gotten to them already. i would have reported them already if i knew how to.

i believe it says in the forum guidlines to refrain from asking the same old "get a swap or get a turbo?" posts. learn to read GUIDLINES AND SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST!!!!!!!!!!!!
