Default stupid VAFC 2 question

I just finished wiring up my VAFC 2. The instruction booklet had an ECU map for EF8 - b16a and DA6 - b16a (same map, naturally), so I'm confident I used the right diagram. I'm also confident I followed that diagram exactly, and I'm pretty damn sure my connections are good. But the car won't start, nothing shows up on the VAFC (blank screen), and the ECU is throwing a code 0 (LED always on). The car ran fine before I started messing with it. Any suggestions? The only thing I can see maybe having screwed up is the direction of the diagram. I counted all the pins with the plug openings facing away from me, which is how the booklet told me to do it. Is that right?

The VAFC won't turn on. So I can't set the parameters.

Check for blown fuses in the fusebox on the passenger shock tower.
