Default tuned my car at 10psi results....

i have a bone stock gsr motor with 3inch cat and exhaust

t3t4
550rc
rev hard man
tial waste
greddy bov
hondata s200

i got 240 at 10psi and like 185 of torque
i think these numbers are kinda low.
is it cuz my intake manifold sucks ? also i drove my car for like 5hrs then i tuned it but i doubt that had nething to do with it. have any suggestions on how to improve my Hp?

Number are well low for 10psi. Something on the car is not right (ie., exhaust leak etc..). Got dyno plot? Could be the tuning as well....

Nothing wrong with the stock mani at all. It would not restrict your power that much if any at all...

Most likely its the tuning.

Don't blame it on the intake manifold, cams, ect. Many people on here make 400+whp on stock manifolds and cams

Look a few threads down, guy made 290whp on 9psi off a t3/60-1.

You should be getting 240whp at 5psi.

it was tuned by boosted hybrid and so i dont think it was the tunning. my dyno graph shows a nice power band all the way to 8k. he has tuned plenty of cars and i trust him and i will go back to him soon to get it retuned with a couple of more mods.

yeah the #'s seem a little low, With a Gsr motor, t3/t4 .63 a/r, 3" exhuast I would have guessed closer to atleast 280.

Your setup isn't lacking, the manifold could be upgraded but it isn't a restriction that would cause your #'s t be lower than most.

What kind of dyno was this on? Maybe the combination of the heat(5 hrs of driving) plus a dyno that reads low could be the culprit. As far as the tuning ive heard nothing but good things about boosted-hybrid. Did he have any insight as to the low #'s?

I believe the dyno might read a tad bit lower than the other dynojet I have been using for the last year, but only by 5-10whp at most. The intake air temps were in the order of 140-150 due to the fan at the dyno not flowing enough CFM over the engine. In order to compensate for the high intake temps, we left the car sit for 5-10 minutes between each pull. The intake air temps at the start of the runs were about 105 degrees and the coolant temps were around 190 degrees, so there was consistency at the start of each run. Air/fuel was 12:1 and timing was around 22 degrees total advance at 10psi, and adding anymore timing didn't add any appreciable gains.

The one thing that I think is contributing to the power loss is the cat. I have made 280-290whp on stock gsr blocks with the stock intake manifolds in the past, but upgrading to a skunk2 gained 15-20whp, which is why I suggested upgrading his manifold. The only other factor that I can think of that would contribute to not making as much power as possible would be that it was a pretty hot and humid day when we dyno'd. We did use an SAE correction factor, which takes this issue into account when measuring the power and torque.

First thing first... You should go do a compression and leak down test to make sure the motor is healthy

how old is the turbo??? what stage wheel is it??? i had a t3/t04e with a stage 1 wheel, that had mad shaft play and it made my car slow as ****. i got it rebuilt and upgraded to a stage 3 wheel and it was night and day. maybee your turbo is in need of attention. but check all the obvious first, exhaust leaks, cracked downpipe etc.

Brand new set of NGK 7 plugs gapped to 0.028".

There was no misfiring on the dyno whatsoever. The horsepower and torque curves were silky smooth.

Yeah, if you still have your cat... it may be clogged. My friend had the same problem. He free'd up over 20whp once he got it fixed witha straight pipe.
