ok got hondata tuned today. (dyno graph inside)
ok so i went to get tuned today and i was pretty happy with the numbers. i think i could have gone higher but the tuner said on stock bottom end that he didnt want to push it anymore i took his word for it.
the very first pull was at stock boost. and the car belted out 260@5psi i ws pretty happy. final run of the night was 325hp and 226 tq @12psi.
tell me what you guys think ok im not good at reading these things but the curves look really smooth. oh yea and on a side note. my tuner said he left it a little rich to be on the safe side. he said he could have leaned out some more and got mroe power but not on my stock ignition system and stock bottom end. i left it at that.

this power was made with 2.5 in downpipe. 2.25 in exhaust and a highflow CAT. im pretty happy with these numbers.

You could have leaned it out to 12:1 and it been fine, its too rich up top, you can see the slope of ur curve flatten when it goes rich (around 75 mph)

my mistake he didnt say he couldnt lean it out anymore because of the stock ignition. he just mentioned that it would be a good idea for me to invest in a MSD 6A and external blaster coil becasue around 7k rpms my stock ignition was missing a little bit at aroud the same time that he was telling me that he went a little conservative on the airfuel. yea he left it rich like that i kinda asked him to be more conservative becuase i am too paranoid. he said he could go leaner but i wanted to stay with that. im not trying to go for not 400 whp and have a 10 sec car. i just wanted decent numbers an thats what i got. at least i think so.

Stock ignition will be fine past 350 whp, if your ignition was missing, something is wrong, check ur plugs gap, check the resistance of ur plug wires, maybe replace cap and rotor, or your ignition timing is incorrect at boost.
anyways, if you wanted a goal of 325 whp, you should have run less boost, and run the Optimal AFR, more efficient =

actually my goal was for 350 to the wheels lol. but oh well. and it was my plugs when started the first run. after that ED ( TUNER) immediately asked me what plugs i was running. i said stock. lol. he immediately went to go fetch 1 step colder plugs and he checked the gaps to make sure they were rught and that took care of the majority of the missing. but i was running stock plug wires and i hadnt changed the cap and rotor ever. so maybe those are the culprits. i mean after he made the final 2 passes there wasnt really any mis firing at all. everything was smooth. partial throttle and full throttle. i was pretty happy. i wish i wasnt such a pansie so i could have squeezed out a little more. but oh well

I question some of the things i hear from that guy.
Follow my advice
get 7 series plugs, gap to .028-.030
Replace cap and rotor (i think its only like $25 or so from dealer)
check to see if ur plug wires are in spec.
P.S. if you want ur motor to last a really long time, dont run that 12 psi of boost daily

yea im running 7 series plugs. the box said 3330 on them i think. and thanx for the advice i dont plan on running that 12 psi every day. its being turned down to aobut 7-8 for every day. **** i really could turn it down back to 5 psi with no problems. i mean at 5psi i netted 260 @ the wheels. for every day driving that should be plenty

Is there a difference in reliability running a couple more psi versus more aggressive air/fuel ratio? Would a 1 or 2 psi bump yield more power than increasing the air/fuel ratio to 12:1? Which would be safer?

yeah this is the same guy that wouldnt turn my wiseco piston-endyne/eagle rods block over 300@ the wheels, i was pretty steamed , i wanted 400 @the wheels, i also made 260 at 5 lbs, and 317@10lbs, he wouldnt take it higher than that. i am in the process of a sleeved block build,and im skeptical about taking it back to him...........but all in all he tunes good as **** , but im afraid he wont tune my car past 400 w/the sleeved block

he will definately tune your car for over 400 if you get sleeved. 2 of my friends david and trinh both have sleeved b18c1 blocks with pistons and rods and he tuned both of their cars. one at 578 to the wheels with nitrous and the other at 560 to the wheels without nitrous. he tuned my other friend with a stock block with 1000cc injectors at 444 to the wheels. it wasnt supposed to go that high but he did it. so hes not as conservative as you think. thee were all hatchbacks with gsr motors
