I diagnosed my friend's car yesturday, disconnected his vafc, pulled his error codes and I grabbed a code 3 (MAP sensor).
Are all b16a map sensors interchangable?
Also we encountered a weird problem with the intake manifold vaccume hoses. He took some pics but hasn't sent them yet so I'll try to describe.
On his car, he has a hose from the charcoal canister to the intake manifold. Then another hose spliced with a T connection from the FPR to the map sensor, then to the intake manifold.
But... on my car.. I have a hose from the intake mani to the fuel pressure regulator. Then another hose from the intake mani to my Map sensor. And the charcoal canister has a hose but it doesnt connect to anything, it's just dangling downward.
My car run fine, pulls very hard with no problems, but his car has stumbing idle and idles high yeilding him very bad gas mileage.
Also the charcoal canister has 3 seperate vaccume hoses, 2 of which are connected to other parts in the engine.
I hope this all makes sense... we're trying to figure out why I have a hose dangling, and what the proper configuration is. We both have the same JDM B16a2 motorswap.
Thanks
