Default Car smells like gas help!

Ok heres the get go,

When you open the door with the windows being up you smell gas, when you drive you smell gas BUT you only smell it inside the car. I've checked in the engine bay and it dosen't smell nor does it smell outside the car. It's a 90 CRX SI stock pretty much. I have had a few people tell me it might be the seals on the fuel pump or maybe a fuel line but if it was a fuel line wouldn't you smell gas under/outside the car? Car runs great thats the only problem I have. Just wanted to see what you guys thought.

check the fuel pipes and fuel pump underneath your rear toolbox thing. thats the fuel pump and the fuel lines run around there from the driver side.

It's smelled like this for about a month and gets worse when you drive, dout it's shoes. I did a stereo install awhile but and then took it out to sell it and do engine work instead. Never smelled it while i had the system in or after it was out. It started to smell after I got it inspeced. Right before we got it inspected I put a new oem fuel rail on. But i have checked that many times to see if leaking and it isn't.

Another thing might be the purge solenoid or the cahrcoal canister. If those don't work properly you can get fuel vapors smelling up the place. I don't know if it would create such a drastic smell like you are describing, but it's the only thing I can think of that is related to inspecitons.

My car smelled like that and the tank had started to leak at the seam, I couldn't smell anything outside....check it out and get it fixed.

Your best bet is to take the box behinde the seats out and spray Dr. Sholls foot spray around the gas tank.I know it sounds stupid but if it is leaking anywhere the powder will show you where and how bad.Good luck.
