Default Can I borrow someone's 94-99 GSR catalytic converter (PA/NJ)?

As the title states, I was wondering if someone would let me borrow their stock catalytic converter for a couple days in order that my car can pass PA inspection emissions. I believe I can use a cat for any 94-99 GS-R, even though mine is a 95 (OBD-I). Correct me if I am wrong. I don't have the original because I bought the car after it had already been modified, and the owner got rid of the OEM cat.

I drive a 1995 GS-R w/ intake, comptech axleback, NGK plugs/wires, and a high flow cat. I passed for everything except for emissions. The guys at the shop where it was inspected today, said it was defenitely the cat which caused me to fail because of the high amount of NOx in the exhaust gas.

Here were my results:
CO % x liters
Limit = 1.10
Me = 1.22
FAIL

HC ppm x liters
Limit = 275
Me = 307
FAIL

NO ppm x liters
Limit = 3600
Me = 6044
FAIL (Damn!)

I drove the car less then 3 miles before i went to get it inspected, so it wasn't very warm. Plus I hadn't driven it hard either, no shifts above 4500 rpms. I was using 93 octane, and hadn't used fuel injector cleaner in 3000+miles.

Also, the oil (I use Mobil 1) was last changed 2300 miles ago. However, it has not been driven on a daily basis. I've been away at school and it had only been started up twice in a 7 week period prior to last Wednesday, May 12th, when I returned from school. Maybe this is what can account for me Failing the CO %.

Therefore, I'm asking to borrow someone's cat, that way I can just bolt it up and use it to retake the emissions portion of the test. I live in Yardley, PA, which is in Lower Bucks County, about 30 minutes NE of Philly, and right across the Deleware river from Trenton, NJ (5 minutes). I'm willing to drive to pick it up.

If I go back to the same place where I originally had it inspected and fail for emissons a 2nd time, they report me to PENNDOT and I'll have to go through this whole appeal thing. So, i'm not gonna just change the oil, put some fuel injector cleaner/octane booster in it, drive hard to get it warmed up before the test and hope for the best. And, I don't wanna have to buy another cat, new or used (unless its really cheap).

If I can't find a cat, I know a place that will pass me, I just don't want to spend another $80 for inspection, considering I just paid for this one. My cheap *** had to go to the place where they only charge $50 (kicks self). This is another one of the few reasons why I miss NJ, FREE INSPECTION!

Sorry for all the text, I like to be thorough. Let me know guys, thanks

I don't know your budget situation, but if the cat is the reason why you can't pass smog, this is the perfect time to replace the stock cat with a carsound cat, it's smog legal and since you're not in californina you don't have to worry about CARB restrictions (which carsound actually covers) The carsound cat's are pretty cheap, and as long as you don't need one custom made they can be had for under 100 dollars, you'll pass smog with a brand new cat and you'll get a bump in power

Oh btw, you'll need a cat from a 94-95...because it only has one o2 bung as opposed to the obd2 equipped cars with 2 o2 bungs, unless of course you plug one of them.

Does your "check engine " light stay on? This is whats happening on my 2000 GSR. The code reader says that its the O2 sensor at the cat. My car is set up almost identical to yours. Could it be the O2 sensor? If so, anyone with a stock cat/O2 sensor in Pa/NJ/NY/Md?
Inspections suck!

No, I'm not throwing any codes or anything like that. I'm pretty sure my aftermarket high flow cat is just not working correctly and is flowing a little too much, apparently.

I figure a stock cat would probably solve my problem.
