vtec warming up???
yeah that's normal man. You shouldn't be driving the car at high rpms until its warm anyway. Unless of course you find it necessary to do a vtec burnout out of the driveway.
Driving the car hard when it's cold isn't too bright.

Drive normally for at least 10 minutes (summer) before using VTEC and your engine will live much longer. Or even better, get an oil temp. meter.
omg i cant beleive you did that
haha
i just start the car and start driving off real easy like less than 3000 rpm and when the temp gauge is normal i drive harder..
how long? depends weather and other stuff and where you are summer/winter.
so watch your temp gauge and warm up before you hit vtec haha

You are talking about the water temp gauge, right? It takes much more time to warm up the oil than to warm up the coolant water. In the summer my oil temp. reach 90 deg C after about 10 minutes of normal driving, but the coolant is already warm after 2 minutes.

Yep,..NATURE of the BEAST.
Takes a while to warm up,..but only a little while to cool down.
Oil has not warmed up enough for it to be V-tAcking immediatly.
I wait till the Needle has gotten up to the line...then you may rev a tad higher but wait till its normal position to the climb to 8500k

you're asking for trouble..
don't push your car until fluids are at normal operating levels/temps/pressure..
even after you warm up the car, its best to drive it for 5-10 minutes before pushing it..
if you can't wait to warm up the car, at least drive it lightly for 5-10 minutes - although it never hurts to let it warm up

i dont' have oil temp yet, but i go by oil pressure, and it takes longer for oil pressure to drop.. i basically warm the car until oil pressure drops to ~2 kg/cm2 and then take it easy for several miles/5-10minutes.

I dont romp on it that much at all, but my car has usually been running for about a 1/2 hour if I do.
For that out of the hole, cold start power, try some nitrous until your car is warm enough...Which wont be that long at all

i find that my car feels a little stronger after i let it warm up. could just be me, but letting your car warm up is not a bad idea.
