Are you sure you havent hit your head too hard.

Vtec is Oil Presure Activated. And Vtec Shouldnt hit when your cold. Atleast thats the way it works for me, I have to wait for the Motor to be full running temp before Vtec Hits. Ive tried when the engine was cold, and it was a no go.

no bro!! ill start the car and rev it about 2 or 3 times. take off and nail the throttle, v-tec will hit but when the car gets to its normal temp it'll stop working.

Thats weird?

What have you done so far to trouble shoot this?

Heres somethings I would do.

Make sure there is oil in the motor, and its got enough. Here this thread saved my life when I went from non-vtec to vtec

did you check your oil level. v-tec shouldnt hit when cold are you sure its hitting if so something is wrong . you definaly have no codes stored. how long has this been going on? does this car have the stock motor in it or does it have a motor swap in it?

vtec should not activate until the engine has reached a certain temp

the car is a 95 civic ex coupe, but the motor is a 99 usdm B16, now Ive tried the phearable.net bypass system but it still wont work. I'll start the car after a few hours of sitting and rev it bout 3 times. Ill drive it till 3k and shift and do a 2nd gear pull and V-tec will hit cause its still cool, but after it reaches normal temp it wont work. there is a JDM syliniod on the car but it does have a oil pressure switch, as the oil level its at the level it should be. the 2nd dot on the dipstick. and Im running a p28 converted for the set up. e-mail me redcivic97sir@yahoo.com. I cant post anymore after this. it wont let me

naw dude. didnt get the e-mail. but I did the oil pressure by pass and itll work but after about 30 min or so of driving itll stop working. no codes are being thrown either. Im running a p28 thats chipped and tuned for the set up. I also tried a bone stock p72 and its the same problem.

It really sounds like there is a loose wire somewhere.

i went through the wiring system 2 day. sauderd and shrink wrapped everything I could. however I did notice that the pin that connects the end of the harness to the connector that plugs into the ecu is just a wee little lose. could this b my problem. If so y does v-tec work, but then stop after the car has been running for a bit?

You should hook your solenoid up to a switch for a little bit, and test it out. It could be the solenoid being faulty.

how would i do that? check this out guys..... i wired a light to the v-tec wire that exits the ecu, when I get up to where v-tec is suppose to cross over the light turns on. so I know that the ecu is giving the current to the soliniod, but still no v-tec. could it be my soliniod? Ive read the helms manuel on how to check the free floating pin that sits between the soliniod the monting bracket. they say it should spin or move freely. mine has a little bit of a grind or rub you can feel when you spin it. could this lock do to expansion up when the car gets hot and not move? and thats why my v-tec wont engage? any 1 help!!!!
