Default are camber kits necessary?

ive heard from an enthusiast friend of mine that hondas dont camber for some reason when you lower them... i was thinking about lowering my car 1.5 to 2 inches and wondering if i should get a camber kit as well... i was also told buy this one shop that in a 96 integra if you lower it you will blow the shocks. im always hearing different things from other places >_< go figure, what do you guys think

sometimes you do, sometimes you dont. id buy one just to be on the safe side. adjustable camber is always a plus anyway

are you just buying lowering springs? thats a big no-no on stock shocks, especially if youre lowering 2in.

what will happen to the shocks if i get lowering springs, im most likely gonna do a 1.5 to 1.7 drop.

If you lower your car, get new shocks as well. Dont ride on stock shocks.

As for camber kits, I hear people using the washer method for the rear....I've also heard people saying to just get an alignment, for the toe causes the bad wear.
On my old hatch I had f/r camber kit, and it was pretty low 2.5-3 in drop...no bad wear in tires(also had an alignment done, of course).

Guess more homework needs to be done

my car is lowered 2" in the front and 1.5" in the rear...all i do is rotate my tires after every oil change and the wear isnt bad at all...there is just a little more maintenance involved but i dont mind...i am not using a camber kit

you probably hear different things from different places because you work with inconsistent info. just talking about "lowering" doesnt imply how low you go.

obviously, the need for a camber kit is greater the lower you go.

to me yes they are if u want tires to last longer....i had camber wear so bad the metal was showing out of the tire..and my car is prolly lowered 2.5 inch or so on skunk 2 coilovers ..so i got 4 new tires and a skunk 2 camber kit .

I've had my 2" drop on stock shocks for over a year. My OEM shocks are still as stiff as the day I got the car.

Maybe Im an exception...

alright so right now im thinking of getting the TOKICO HP Series 1.75-Inch Drop Suspension Kit with included shocks instead of just lowering springs... im probably gonna save a little more for a camber kit. one more question tho... which is more important having the camber kit in the front or rear or both?

Usually anything below 1.5" of lowering will need camber kits to bring the alignment back to factory specs.

I work at firestone where we see a few lowered cars, so here's my take:
Every part of your suspension was designed to work with every other part of your suspension from the top of the strut tower to the wheels and tires. If you change any part of it, you will change how some other parts act. Lowering your car, changeing the wheels, tires, or dimensions of anything else will require correction kits to make everything act right. Call an alignment shop and ask them what you will kits you will need for whatever change you're making to your suspension. Maybe call 2 or 3 just so you don't get some retard that doesn't know what he is talking about...
