Default cam question

i have a p72 ecu where the vtec kicks in at 4500 on my gsr,, is it worth buying itr or ctr cams w/ that low of vtec engagement? this is w/ stock gsr intake manifold also.. thanx let me no

regaurdless of where VTEC kicks in it would help you.

It sounds like you have the ECU chiped. May I suggest you change the chip to that of one that has a higher VTEC engagement (5500)

yeah usually 5500 is about where vetc engagment works best, and yes itr/ctr cams are a great upgrade regardless and a great cam for a mild street application

Just like everyone else says CTR\ITR is a great upgrade for your stock valvetrain

4500-4800rpm is normal for a stock P72 GSR ecu, because of the secondary butterfly duties. I suggest you stick with the P72 ecu if you drop in any type-R cams, otherwise you'll lose low-end torque if you bump VTEC up too high.
