63 will probably signify that the sensor is going bad itself.

65 probably is indicating a short in the circuit.

No need to bump your thread every 10 mins....it's uncalled for. When someone can add to the thread, they will.

Now, when you talk about connecting the wires....does this mean that you have no white plastic connector on the 02 sensor wiring? If so, and you are trying to "guess and check" what wire does what, you can easily short something out.

Why is it that you have both sensors disconnected anyways? I don't know what year your car is or anything, but I'm assuming it's 96 or later since you have 2 O2 sensors. To get rid of the code, you have to break the circuit to the ECU and reset it. Pull the neg. battery terminal or the fuses for it in the fuse box under the dash.

65 is probably a open circuit in the heater... a short would blow the fuse. You unhooking the sensor would cause the trouble code instantly. For 63 to occur you need to drive the car for a bit with the sensor unhooked. 63 indicates that O2 sensor voltage is outside parameters. Clear the codes, hook up the O2 and see if 65 pops back ups. If it does replace it.
