Default Turbo help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi everyone iam from the uk i have a honda civic ek6 1.5vtec. The engine number is d15z6 its 115bhp stock 72000miles. i dont think this engine is availble in the usa its just for europe. i was wondering what turbo would be best to use, would the engine still be very relieable in its stock form with a turbo on it or would i have to make some big changes. also is this a good engine to be doing it on thanks for any help jon uk

the answer to all of your questions really depends on how mechanically inclined you are and how good your tuner is... and how much money you are willing to spend. those things considered, I'd prolly have to recommend you put a swap in it, since it doesn't sound like you are mechanically inclined based on your questions. not trying to be a dick, just saying...

well that's great, but it still seems to me you don't know jack about turbos, so the most reliable solution for you would be to swap the motor. unless you are willing to learn and learn and learn about turbo Hondas. there are many examples of long-running turbo Hondas on stock bottom ends. it just takes knowledge, whereas a swap is more or less a simple R&R.

your right i dont no much about turbos thats why iam asking these questions. the reason a went for a turbo because i thought that it would be easier to put one of them on rather than swaping the engine.

don't worry about it, most ppl assume it's 'easier'. That's why we're here to say, if it's done right, it's NOT easier, and it's NOT cheaper. Sure you can build a shitty DIY kit for $1000, but then you have shitty reliability too. A good PROPER turbo setup should run about $3000+. That includes Hondata, injectors, intercooler, piping, oil lines, coolant lines, fittings, wastegate, BOV, boost controller, gauges, turbo, manifold, turbo timer, and other miscellaneous goodies. And still, you can't be sure you won't blow it all up. ****, now that I think about it, it should be MORE than $3000. I know a guy who just spent $8000 on a custom turbo. :-\ Bottom line is, you get what you pay for.
