whats the alternator in my 94 accord?
im trying to figure out what the alternator is in my 94 accord... i want to put in a bigger amp, but it seems to already be taking power from my battery with this 250 watt amp
get a better battery, a capacitor, and upgrade/clean your grounding points... 250 watt amp your battery should be able to hold that little wattage. get it checked or get a new battery, your stock alternator should be able to hold..
Agreed, unless it's some pos amp your stock alternator should be able to handle it no problem. I'm running a 300w and 2 150w amps in my 97 and don't have any problems.
Max output from your alternator is 80 amps. The alternator doesn't really start "charging" untill the engine rpm is around 2k. You may see your lights dim slightly as the bass hits when your engine is at idle. I would consider this normal. You can install a larger rated battery or some type of capacitor if you feel the need. You can also install a larger pulley on the alternator to speed up the alt. sooner.
