Default 4.7 or 4.9 final drive

Ok, I already know I should buy a commuter car and garage the R but thats not what I want to talk about right now. I drive 130miles per day back and forth to work five days a week and twice a month I drive to San Luis Obispo for school and that is 250 miles one way. I know I should leave my car stock for now but I want to do a couple of things to it. My question is what would be a better final drive for me, the JDM R 4.7 or the ATS 4.9 with an LS fifth gear? Thanks for any help

ATS would be more fun, but not very practical for you. I would go with JDM 4.7 and not touch the 5th gear. Your cruising RPM's isn't going to be THAT much higher than stock, maybe 2-300rpm more going 80mph. My ATS FD with stock gears at 80mph is at around 4.7-8k rpm, with the JDM, it should be lower.
