has anyone ever heard of using solder to fix a tiny leak(hole) in an aluminum radiator.

 

i found one thread on this, but it is useless.
the hole is near the fin. how about brazing? what is brazing, lol. thanks in advance

 

 

the end tank are plastic and the fins are metal, once they have a leak, you can weld them shut all you want but they would last long with 1.1 bar of pressure pushing.

 

im talking about all aluminum one.

 

on the tanks you could heliarc but the core you'd have to solder, id just recommend replacing it

 

i had a leak in my accords radiator and i used jb weld and it didnt hold so then i used plumbers putty from home depot and its been holding for about a year now. so i guess u could try that. and i did put the plumbers putty over the cracked jb weld if that makes a difference.

 

im going to solder, then RTV silicone over it and then a small piece of sheetmetal. ill let you know how it turns out
