Wastegate Question?
I am in the final stages of putting the turbo system together in my car. I am running the turbo exh pipe out of the front of the car. I am thinking of running the wastegate dump tube into the turbo down pipe. Will this create any restrictions on exh flow or should they be kept seperate.

Restrictions? It depends on what you mean. Closed loop exhaust is a tradeoff, you sacrifice power for quieter (hopefully) exhaust in boost.

Does it really sacrifice that much power?

Does it really sacrifice that much power?
It depends on how the exhaust is made and a whole host of other variables. The only thing you can almost certainly count on is your peak hp will be lower with closed loop.

In other words, don't weld the dump entry into the downpipe perpendicular to the downpipe.</TD></TR></TABLE>
If it was perpendicular I could imagine it would blow the exhaust gases straight down to the bottom of the exhaust pipe kind of creating a "wall" that would block flow of the downpipe exhaust gases. Cody is making mine, I think he knows what he is doing.
