Default Reuse Head Gasket?

I searched and didn't find exactly what I was lookin for. I put my head on with a new stock head gasket, but had to pull the head back off before I started the engine. Would it be ok to reuse the gasket when I put the head back on or should I use copper spray or what.

Thanks,
Craig

a couple times? i imagine this is somewhat ok for the same head with same block, but it would definitely be mandatory to replace it if one of them is different right?

it would probably be alright, but i'd spend the extra $40 to not have a leaky head gasket. the head gasket is meant to crush a litte, like almost all gaskets. so it should be replaced every time after it's torqued down.

your supposed to replace the HG every time the head is torqued whether the car was started or not. However, many people have reused HGs that were used for many miles without any problems.

I would never reuse a HG though.
