I feel like an idiot asking this but w/e. i did a search too and found nothign.. but anyway i'm installing some new speakers into my EG and i was just wondering which wire is pos and which is neg. there is one with a red stripe and one that is straight black

straight black is always negative

 

take the factory speaker out. clip off the factory plug and leave about an inch of wire left on the plug. strip both wires back. take a 9V battery to the wires when the speaker cone moves forward look at the battery and whichever wire is touching the positive post of the battery that'll be your positive needless to say the other is your negative.

the browns and grays are negative for each side. trust me, i do installs for a living.
