What motor came in a 93 prelude si?

Default What motor came in a 93 prelude si?

I was just wondernig because I found a nice shell and was wondering what the orginal motor was?

Either it was the H23A or the H22A, USDM ofcourse. I believe you can look at the VIN number to see which motor came in the shell. BB2 = H23A and BB1 = H22A. Someone correct me here.

Thanks for the info,haven't really messed around with any ludes so I don't know to much about them.

if you're sure it's an Si, then it came with an H23A1.

yup, the vtec and s models had versions of the h22 while the si had the h23a1

so if it really was a si with the h23a would I have any problems if I put a h22a in it?

umm no. The VTEC had an H22A1, the S model had an F22A1

The motors are not much related except they are both 2.2L. The F22A1 is more like the H23A1 if anything.

Nope..but of course you would have to buy all the parts for it: motor, tranny, ecu, etc. and a good shop to do it for you...unless you can do it yourself...in which case good luck

My friend and i did my swap in 2 days. 1st day we pulled my h23. Then second day we picked up the h22a and put it in. H23 tranny and most parts bolt right on the h22a block.

I did this swap in my 93 after I blew the H23 crank in two. All I had to do was get the H22a, the p13 ECU and new axels and run the wires for the VTEC to the ecu. The Tranny in the 93 bolted right up to the H22a with out any problems.
